Religion defined by man and forced on mankind has done more to enslave mankind than any other single thing. I believe the Creator detests religion in any form, because it is used to enslave mankind in the worse possible way... in his mind. It is my opinion the only true worship of the Creator is through genuine love of him and his creation, which includes your fellow man. Forcing or brow-beating others to adopt what you believe to be true is not love, no matter what your intentions may be… it is still force; so in truth, religions, for the most part, use force in some manner to bring others into their fold.
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their conscience." -- C. S. Lewis
The Creator wants to be worshiped in spirit and in truth by people who genuinely love him, not because they wish to escape some dire punishment in the hereafter. Today, religion is perverse, filled with the traditions of man in contravention of the will of the one who created him. I see no redeeming feature in religion today, only continual justification to subjugate, murder, and control mankind in one manner or another.
Despite what I just stated, I am no atheist... I love the Creator, Yahshua, with all my soul; worshiping him according to the dictates of my conscience, guided by the Spirit indwelling me. I need no man to tell me how to worship him or any volume to define his terms.
I believe men of power have perverted the written word over the centuries, primarily to compel his fellow man to bend to his will, not the will of the Creator. In my opinion, those that tell you the written word is the inerrant perfect Word of God are ignoring human nature; deceiving others as well as themselves. I believe truth remains within the written word, but only the Spirit can bear witness of that truth and reveal it to you.
Only the Word that became flesh and dwelt among us is the inerrant and perfect Word of God... it is his Spirit that leads us into all truth as well as remembrance of what he said when he lived among us in the flesh, all others are counterfeits; perverted by the mind of man.
ONLY the truth will set you free...
"I have sworn upon the altar of God, eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man." -- Thomas Jefferson to Dr. Rush, Sept. 23, 1800
